Cellar 503 is branching out from all things Oregon wine in a special tasting class that will focus on other fermented goodness. Portland’s very own wizard of sake, Paul Willenberg, will walk us through the basics of how sake is made and how to differentiate one sake from another on a menu. Should you serve sake hot or cold? Do you need the small ceramic cups? Is sake even wine?
Plus, you’ll discover the phenomenal versatility of pairing sake with foods beyond sushi. Small bites expertly paired by Paul and the chef from local, organic, sustainable Artemis Foods will be part of this great learning experience.
Paul Willenberg has earned a level 3 certificate from the WSET in sake and is the former Beverage Director at Nodoguro.
